Usually people get promoted to a management role because they are good at their jobs.

Hospitality worker, retail associate, accountant, service provider, human resource personnel, sales associate, trades person – every industry has someone who is responsible for managing the people who do the job they did before they were promoted.

Unfortunately, little to no training is offered to these managers and they end up struggling in their role. They require tools to effectively navigate their nuanced role.

Developing managers who lead from the middle is vital to the success of our organizations.

We Focus on Developing Managers Across Our
Management Key Competencies

Managers hold a very important and nuanced role within an organization They are tasked with understanding the strategic vision of senior leadership and executing the day-to-day responsibilities of their team.

Our Key Competencies equip mid-level leaders with the skills needed to operate effectively in their roles.

Management Key Competencies

Leadership Development

Leadership Development is a foundational component in our Management Key Competencies. Through workshops, interactive learning opportunities, online workspaces, forums and community events mid-level managers learn and apply leadership skills that specifically address the challenges faced by managers leading from the middle.

Communication Skills

Managers must manage the demands from above while effectively communicating and collaborating with their team to get work done while aligning with organizational strategy.  Understanding healthy conflict, navigating and providing feedback and balancing the communication of task and meaning are developed within our Key Competencies.

Creating Effective Structures

To operate effectively in their roles, managers are tasked with creating structures. We help mid-level leaders develop structures that work for them and their team. When we create effective structures, we are clear on who is on our team, their strengths, the tasks that are our responsibility and how to delegate effectively.

Executive Level Relationships

We help managers understand their their nuanced position within an organization. Their role isn’t just to implement directives from above, they must influence and guide decisions by providing context, feedback and strategic insights to their superiors. This involves being able to tactfully challenge ideas, propose alternatives and advocating for themselves and their team.
